2017 Christmas run to Woodford

2017 Christmas run to Woodford

The threat of heavy rain and stormy conditions were on all our minds as we headed off to Woodford from Chermside. Some hardy souls still braved it in their Austins and all up we had ten Austins and a number of modern cars. The Austins included the Hayes' 1934 Six Cabriolet (with the top down!), three A30s, an A40 ute, two A50s, an A55, and A90 Atlantic and an A110 Westminster.

The venue, the Woodford Golf Club, as usual, was great with forty of us having the dining room to ourselves, and of course the meals were up to expected high standards. All of us were given presents in the form of books and magazines, and a big thank you to Lorraine and Brian for organising these. (My 1978 Women's Weekly Giant Cookbook will come in handy!). Also, thanks go to Kev and Paula for organising the day. Somehow the weather forecasters got it all wrong, as it was mainly dry for the whole day and I would have taken the Maxi instead of my modern.
