New car restoration TV show
This article is not about an Austin, but it is about restoring a classic Australian car, the EJ Holden, to be sold at Auction to raise funds for awareness of men’s health and in particular, Prostate Cancer, a subject close to me, as I lost my father to this cancer in 2016. It also involves the EJ Whitten Foundation, the foundation of Australian AFL legend, Edward James “Ted” Whitten, who also succumbed to Prostate Cancer.
"EJ for EJ", the pilot documentary for Resto my Ride, documents the bare metal restoration of an EJ Holden, that was donated to the EJ Whitten Foundation and features iconic AFL celebrities Sam Newman, Billy Brownless, Sam Kekovich, Robert “Dipper” DiPierdomenico, Doug Hawkins and Ted Whitten Junior himself. Resto my Ride – EJ for EJ was picked up by Discovery Networks and aired in April 2017 on Discovery Turbo on Foxtel.

Resto my Ride are currently filming a 6 episode series in their workshop in Williamstown Victoria. They say that they have some great cars to be featured and hope to roll out new episodes over the coming months. Maybe they can consider and Austin for a future episode!
