Club Run to Venman's Bushland National Park

Club members met at the Clubhouse and departed for Venman Bushland National Park just after 9am. Route instructions were easy, as we just followed Old Cleveland Road, then into Mt Cotton Road, and turned into West Mt Cotton Road.

Morning tea stop at the Mt Cotton Nursery and Café was a surprise as I had driven past it many times, but never stopped there before. It was nicely positioned on top of a hill and Brisbane City Centre could be seen in the distance, peaceful music was playing, food was excellent (actually there was possibly too much of it) and the little two year old girl and 'Shadow' a black Labrador dog made themselves at home with us Austineers.  William (or Bill) a wild Peacock was also wandering around at our feet.

It was only a short drive to the Venman Bushland National Park where we enjoyed our BYO lunch and each others companionship. Some members fired up the Bar-b-que and cooked their lunch. We were joined here by Magpies, a Butcher Bird, and a wallaby with its Joey in its pouch with its head hanging out watching all the activities. (I want to know, if a Joey is a female, is it called "Josephine"??).

There was a good cross section of Austin's along for the days outing along with one Worsley (Oops, a spelling mistake, I meant Wolseley) and there was about a equal number of modern vehicles.  Another great Austin Club Run!
